Our 2012 Foodie Gift Guide is near and dear to my heart because, well, I’m kind of a foodie myself. And this guide is full of things I own (and love!) + things that are on my Christmas list this year. Is there a foodie on your list? We’ve got something for them right here. Or, you know- maybe you need to add some of these to your list for Santa!
Foodie Gift Guide: Cookbooks
Let’s start off with some rocking awesome cookbooks to inspire kitchen creativity. Smitten Kitchen and Joy the Baker, both respected food bloggers, released cookbooks this year and in a word? They’re delicious. Each one is full of lovely, crisp photography and unique but simple recipes. And to be honest, I couldn’t pick between the two- we’ve never made a recipe of Joy’s that we haven’t loved, and Deb is becoming somewhat of a standard when it comes to making good food from scratch. So if you’ve got a foodie on your list who could do with some drool-worthy eye candy, thrill them this Christmas with not one, but two incredible new cookbooks!
Foodie Gift Guide: Kitchen Tools
Then we have the microplane, one of my favorite cooking tools. I grab this bad boy for all kinds of things- grating parmesan, zesting lemons, shaving chocolate, and it performs each task with ease. Plus it comes in all these awesome colors! You can find these microplanes at Sur la Table.
Check out these Letterpress Cookie Cutters from West Elm! Perfect for the foodie/design nerd in your life. Plus, if you buy someone cookie cutters, you’re guaranteed at least one “thank you” batch, right?
No kitchen is complete without a cute and functional set of measuring cups. And this milk bottle set from Anthropologie is just the ticket! Although honestly, these would serve a mostly decorative function in my kitchen…
Foodie Gift Guide: Food
Even the most dedicated cook enjoys the chance to sit back, relax, and eat something that someone else has prepared once in a while. Order the foodie in your life a box of 12 French Macarons from Macaron Parlour. Flavor choices include: Candied Bacon Maple Cream Cheese, Nutella Ganache, Caramel Fleur de Sel, Tiramisu, Milk Chocolate and Passion Fruit Ganache and more… How could you go wrong?
Foodie Gift Guide: Serving
And what’s all this beautiful food without some cute dishes to serve it on? These dessert plates from Target are so adorable! I love the bright yellow color- pretty sure it would be perfect next to my dark purple dishes.
Of course, every cook needs a little collection of candles for last-minute birthday parties and other celebratory occasions. We love these classic white striped candles from Mignon- with a couple sets of these in the pantry, you’re set for any occasion.
And that concludes our 2012 Foodie Gift Guide. Anything gourmet-related on your Christmas list this year? We’d love to hear about it!
